Certificate of occupancy
A certificate of occupancy (CO) is the document the building department issues when a finished building has passed its final inspections and may be occupied for its permitted use. A temporary CO (TCO) allows partial occupancy while punch-list items remain.
Why it matters for a lead
The CO marks delivery. For leasing, property management, furniture, fitness and amenity vendors it is the lead; for the trades it is the end of the job.
Where Groundbreak gets it
Issued on the permit record by the building department; tracked as a status change on the project.
