Trade sub-permit

A trade sub-permit is a separate permit pulled by the subcontractor for one trade on a job: electrical, plumbing, mechanical, roofing, shoring or concrete. It is issued under the master building permit and names the sub, not the general contractor.

Why it matters for a lead

The sub-permit is a timing signal. The shoring or concrete permit means the structure is about to start; the electrical and mechanical permits mean the rough-in is weeks away. Each one names a firm that was just hired.
